Ekaterinburg at night

This Russian card comes from Olga who lives near Ekaterinburg. (The official romanized name is Yekaterinburg but to me, as a Slavic language speaker, this version just seems wrong. 😀 ) Ekaterinburg is the fourth-largest city in Russia and the administrative center of Sverdlovsk Oblast, located in the middle of the Eurasian continent, on the border of Europe and Asia. It is the main industrial and cultural center of the Ural Federal District.

In the upper left corner you could see The Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land. It  is a Russian Orthodox church built on the site of the Ipatiev House in Ekaterinburg, where Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, and several members of his family and household were shot by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. The church commemorates the Romanov sainthood.
