This is one of the four cards that came as a surprise from Ramona and her big family. 🙂

The Kyffhäuser Monument, also known as the Barbarossa Monument or the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, is a monument on the summit of the Kyffhäuser Mountain near Bad Frankenhausen in the state of Thuringia in central Germany. The monument, which totals 81 metres tall, was built in 1890–96 atop the ruins of the medieval Fortress of Kyffhausen. The monument was initially proposed by the 19th Century German War Veterans Federation, which under the name Kyffhäuserbund (Kyffhäuser Federation) took over its maintenance after 1900.
